Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted over at Breaking the Spine where upcoming releases we’re excited about are highlighted.

This weeks Waiting on Wednesday is The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan, the first book in The Trials of Apollo series (find it on Goodreads here).

How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus’s favour.

But Apollo has many enemies – gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

I’m all over stories based on the Greek Gods which is why this one caught my eye, and the fact that it’s in the same world as the Percy Jackson series… I’m very very excited indeed. It’s being released on the 3rd of May 2016 and it’s definitely one that I want to get my hands on!

Until we meet again,
